Sala escura. Ainda invisíveis no espaço da performance Luz mais (2003–2008), sete performers ocupam o ambiente, cada qual posicionado diante de uma caixa de acrílico leitoso. No interior de cada caixa, duas lâmpadas de vapor metálico de 1000W aguardam o acionamento.

Os performers seguram os plugs que ativam as lâmpadas e, no momento preciso, as acendem. Gradualmente, o espaço começa a se revelar. Nada se move. A única ação em curso é a da própria luz — cuja intensidade cresce à medida que o vapor metálico aquece.

No início, percebe-se apenas uma centelha frágil. Lentamente, essa luminosidade se expande, tornando-se progressivamente mais densa, mais agressiva, até alcançar um grau de ofuscamento quase insuportável. A luz deixa de ser condição de visibilidade para tornar-se obstáculo à visão.

Diante da intensidade luminosa, o espectador é conduzido ao fechamento involuntário dos olhos — um gesto de defesa que o devolve, paradoxalmente, à mesma escuridão do início.

Dark room. Still invisible within the space of the performance Light more (2003–2008), seven performers occupy the environment, each positioned in front of a milky acrylic box. Inside each box, two 1000W metal-vapor lamps await activation.

The performers hold the plugs that power the lamps and, at the precise moment, switch them on. Gradually, the space begins to reveal itself. Nothing moves. The only action underway is that of the light itself — whose intensity increases as the metal vapor heats.

At first, only a faint spark can be perceived. Slowly, this luminosity expands, becoming progressively denser, more aggressive, until it reaches an almost unbearable level of glare. Light ceases to be the condition of visibility and becomes an obstacle to vision.

Faced with such intensity, the spectator is led to close their eyes involuntarily — a defensive gesture that paradoxically returns them to the same darkness of the beginning.
